A Lasting Impact
One of the most common questions our staff hear this time of year is, “How has the school year been so far?” If you’ve worked in education or any field with a busy fall, you know that’s not an easy one to answer. Each school year brings a mix of emotions, challenges, and joys, and Doulos is no exception. Yet through every high and low, one thing stands out: our staff see their work as a deep privilege and blessing.
Doulos is a special place, a place to meet Jesus, learn a second language, discover growth through challenge, and find belonging. It isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. Our staff are committed to keeping Doulos that kind of place for generations to come.
More than a school, Doulos is a ministry. While we pursue academic excellence, our deeper goal is to see students grow in faith, skill, and relationship. That’s why so many of us, our staff, families, and friends invest so deeply in this work.
Our hope is for Doulos to continue impacting lives 10, 20, even 100 years from now. That vision inspired the 2023 purchase of land for a new campus, fuels our recruitment of young staff, and drives our collaboration with architects on campus design. We believe God has big plans for Doulos, and we’d love for you to be part of the story!
Board Visit
Last month we were blessed to have our board members here in the D.R.! This mix of local and international board members spent time visiting campus and planning for Doulos' future. We’re so grateful for their leadership and investment at Doulos.
Guest Writers
For the next few months we will turn our monthly eNewsletter over to some guest writers to share their thoughts and reflections on serving at and/or attending Doulos. We're excited for you to hear directly from some of the amazing people that we have around Doulos!
Liberty Trip
During a recruitment trip to Liberty University, we met several soon-to-graduate students who were excited about what we do and eager to combine education with mission trips. Seeing students worship God at Convocation was truly inspiring and reminded us of the importance of our mission at Doulos!
Leadership Lab
Mentorship has always been a huge part of what we do—for students and for staff. This year our executive director is providing a “Leadership Lab” for our young staff members. It’s been a joy to learn useful skills together like how to effectively manage time, how to serve well in a professional environment, and how to find rhythm and rest.
