Provisional Blessings
August 30, 2010
Just last month Doulos sent 4 of our graduated seniors to the US for post high school study opportunities. Two of those students, Johan and Yelida, are both in my hometown of Tyler, Tx attending Tyler Junior College. Plans and arrangements were still being made for their big move the day before their departure. God has been so faithful in his provision for our first Doulos graduates. I am blessed to share this brief email with you of one such provision...
Dear Krista,
I just have to rehearse God's faithfulness to you and your precious ministry and the students you are blessing. We presented this ministry opportunity to our SS class--men and women who love the Lord and love ministering in His name. Most of them have just sent their own kids off to college themselves and understand the investment that is involved. Psalm 110:3 says in the NASB, "In the day of Thy power, Thy people will volunteer freely." We presented the opportunity, prayed and asked the people to respond to what God "empowered" them to do and all together we collected $1,000. That moves me to tears. It is such validation that your students and your ministry are "kingdom investments" and the fact that we get to partner with you in some small way to further their education is just such an incredible blessing. They have never met Yelida or Johan (Doulos Class of 2010). They know very little about your ministry in the Dominican Republic. But the Holy Spirit does and is pouring out his Spirit on the body of Christ and giving us the privilege to partner. Thank you for that opportunity. Thank you for the role you have played in the lives of these precious students. Thank you for being faithful over the years. You now have about 80 more prayer partners that join their prayers with the provision--a powerful combination.
Taking Yelida to shop was the highlight of my week--her sweet spirit, gratitude, and joy were overwhelming. I look forward to meeting Johan. Send us some more precious students and we promise to be good stewards.
God bless,
