High School Retreat

Our high school had the privilege of attending a 1-day retreat. The purpose of the day was to develop kindness and empathy among our students. By knowing each other more closely, students will have a better understanding of the stories of others and exercise more compassion.

Student talks her mom into going to church

One Sunday, a Doulos teacher noticed that the parent of one of her previous students was visiting their church.  After a friendly greeting, the parent told them “Yeah, this is our first time at church. Because of what she's learning at Doulos, my daughter kept asking and asking if we could go. So, finally, I said yes, and here we are.”

Sports League

In a small town like Jarabacoa, exposure to other places, students, and schools (especially when they are some of the most prestigious schools on the Island) is a powerful thing. That is exactly what our Sports League provides. Life-expanding competitive sports experiences that can help our athletes spread the mission of Doulos around the Island.

Independence Day Program

This month our teachers used the preparation and presentation of The Independence Day Program to develop this country's future leaders. We are proud to be a Dominican school. Many commented on the quality and organization of this year's presentation.

#DoulosAlums

Hello everyone my name is Sugeiry Amante and I save lives! I’m a registered nurse. I’m impacting the world by promoting care, health, and advocating for my patients.

Doulos played a major role in helping me get to where I am today, not just through the day-to-day classes, but by teaching us to serve.  Experiences such as Medical Missions left a strong impression on me and I knew that serving was what I wanted in my career.

There’s a saying that if you love what you do you’ll never have to work a day in your life and that’s what I do. I serve others, I save lives! And, I love it!

Please join us in praying for...

Medical Missions - A handful of students and staff will go to the Haiti border to serve as translators for a team of US doctors this coming month. Please be praying for God to use this experience to advance His kingdom.

Recruitment and Staffing - We know that God is moving and preparing His team for next year. Please join us in praying for His call to be clear and for the boldness to say 'yes.' As always, if you’d like to pray over each open position, here’s a list.

Spiritual Emphasis Week - The week before Easter break is Spiritual Emphasis Week. Each year the Spirit moves during this powerful time. Please pray for God’s guidance for the leaders and for the Spirit to prepare our hearts for whatever He would like to do.

Planning Process - This month a team will be coming down to Jarabacoa to begin creating the master plan for the future home of Doulos. They will be planning the building and the fundraising process that will be needed to step into this new chapter.

The Reunion - As we prepare for June's festivities, we feel the Lord guiding us to pray that this will be a time of fun, but also for the Holy Spirit to be present and at work as people come together and process their “Doulos Years.”
