What They Don’t Know…Yet

If you’ve ever seen our PreK students on campus, you know how adorable they are. They’re still learning how to keep their backpacks from tipping them over, how to stand in line without wandering away, and how to greet their teacher with a big “¡hola!” and an even bigger smile.

But here’s the thing—they don’t know yet.

They don’t know that one day they’ll discover what it means to have a sponsor: a friend who believes in them, prays for them, and cheers them on year after year. They don’t know how much it will mean to their families to receive that kind of support and encouragement.

Right now, all they know is snack time, story time, and playground adventures. And that’s exactly as it should be. But behind the scenes, something bigger is happening.

When a child is sponsored, it doesn’t just impact their education—it transforms their family life and future. Parents gain a supportive community. Teachers have more resources to help kids thrive. And sponsors discover a joy they didn’t know they were missing.

Take Nahomy, one of our students. When she received a package from her sponsor, the treasure she carried around wasn’t a toy or treat. It was a simple photo of the person who believes in her. For Nahomy, it wasn’t about things—it was about knowing someone is in her corner, cheering her on.

As you see the giggles and shy smiles of our youngest students, remember: they may not understand the journey ahead, but you do. Maybe this is your moment to step in—to walk alongside a child as they grow into the servant leaders God is calling them to be.

Thanks to improved ventilation from our maintenance team, our high school classrooms are now more comfortable than ever—especially during those sweltering afternoons in Jarabacoa.
