The goal of this web page is to provide you with the information, sequence, and support you’ll need to transition to Doulos. You’ll see we’ve broken it down into 6 different areas to focus on. In each area, you’ll meet your “Point Person” for that area. These are experts to help with any questions, concerns, or roadblocks you might come across for that topic.

1. Doulos Foundations
Start - Immediately after accepting your job offer.
Finish - 2 weeks before you arrive.

2.Fundraising
Start - Immediately after accepting your job offer.
Finish - Work with Tim to set your goal date for being fully funded.
Point Person: Tim Stanley
Henri Nouwen said it best when he wrote, “Fundraising is, first and foremost, a ministry. It’s a way of announcing our vision and inviting other people into our mission.”

Create a “Prospective Donor List”
“Make a copy” and fill in donor names, PPL, and target low/ high… Prospective Donor List (UNEDITABLE SO BE SURE TO "MAKE A COPY")

3. Documentation

Copy of Teaching Certificate (if applicable)

Voided Check (this will be used to directly deposit your monthly salary)
Bring the original color paper copies with you and give them to human resources when you arrive.

4. Travel & Shipping

As a reminder, we need all new staff for the 2025-26 school year arriving in the DR to the Santiago (STI) airport on July 17, 2024, between 8 am and 10 pm.

5. Cultural & Emotional Transition
Start - 1 month before arriving
Finish - This one never really finishes
Point Person: Your Staff Mentor
If your life were a snow globe, God’s about to give it a good shake. When everything settles you will feel confident navigating life in Jarabacoa. You’ll have close friends in and outside for Doulos and you will have grown in ways you NEVER could have imagined.
The journey you’re about to go on is unique for each person, but MANY have traveled down it and you are not alone.

6. Getting Set Up
Start - 1 month before you arrive
