Friend & Family Week
March 8-15, 2025
You’ve heard the stories, now come be part of them!
Have you been waiting for the right time to come and experience the school you’ve heard so much about?
If you’re on this page, you are an important person in the life of someone who serves at Doulos. You’ve most likely read the newsletters, joined in prayer, and looked forward to seeing them when they were back in the area.
Most likely you’ve always wondered what it would be like to go and visit.
Now’s Your Chance!
Doulos Friends & Family Week
March 8-15
This is a special week reserved ONLY for friends and family of our current Missionary Staff. During the week you will help out on campus, explore the town, do some cultural activities, and share quality time with your friend/family member as you experience firsthand their lives in the Dominican Republic.

It would mean a lot if you could come.
Unless you’ve lived in a foreign culture it’s hard to understand just how meaningful it is to have someone visit. When people from “Back Home” come and experience your work, friends, church, and grocery store, it helps to bridge the two worlds and opens a new level of encouragement.

The best prices we could offer.
Because we really want you to be able to come, we took as much off the cost as possible. The cost is $600 per person ($250 OFF the normal team price).
That price includes lodging at our team house, all meals, transportation throughout your visit, service project costs, as well as a variety of activities throughout the week.
Flight NOT included

Questions You Might Have:
-
You are responsible for booking your own flights to and from STI (Santiago Airport - Cibao International Airport). We ask that you arrive sometime on Saturday, March 8th, and you depart sometime on Saturday, March 15th. Flights that arrive in the middle of the night are ok with us (i.e. 1:15a on Saturday morning).
-
Doulos has a “Team House” where we host all of our visiting groups. This house can accommodate up to 26 guests when all beds are utilized. All “friends and family” will be housed in the Team House and we will accommodate married couples and singles in appropriate ways. So that we can accommodate a variety of sleeping arrangements, the trip capacity is set at 16 guests.
-
Because we want everyone to have a thoroughly “Dominican” experience, most meals will contain rice with beans and some type of meat. During the week you will eat meals at Doulos’ cafeteria and your evening meals will be a mix of meals at the Team House, with your staff person, and with a student family.
-
We do our best to honor all food restrictions for our visitors. Simply let us know what limitations you have, and we will let you know if we are able to confidently accommodate you.
-
You can click HERE to initially register for the trip. In addition to this basic initial registration, there is a non-refundable $100 deposit required to reserve your spot (space is limited to the first 16 people to register). Deposits and payments can be paid via credit card/ bank transfer HERE (click the drop-down menu and select “Friends and Family Week Payments”) or via checks sent to: Doulos Ministries, P.O. Box 3080, Burnsville, MN 55337. All checks should be made out to: “Doulos Ministries.” Future payments of $250 are required on November 14, 2024 AND January 14th, 2025 (you’re also welcome to pay the trip fee total prior to January 14th, 2025).
-
This is largely up to the individual staff person and their schedule. We will do our best to accommodate eating meals together (they are welcome at the Team House for dinner with everyone) and spending evening free time together. The best opportunities for extra time spent with staff will be evenings and the Sunday after your arrival.
-
Once you register, our Team Coordinator, Lauren, will contact you to provide you with the necessary paperwork. Those forms need to be completed and emailed back to Lauren to officially confirm your registration. If you have any questions about those forms, you can contact Lauren at lauren.ellis@doulosdiscovery.org.
-
We’re not requiring that everyone attending be a Christian, but we ask that you agree to a “volunteer code of conduct” agreement while visiting and serving at Doulos. To see that agreement, you can visit HERE.
