Help Haiti |
January 29, 2010 |
Doulos Discovery Ministries has set up a Haiti relief fund.
100% of donations directed toward this fund will go toward buying
food, medical supplies, and gas for transport. Purchases will be
made locally from Jarabacoa and sent by truck to Port Au Prince.
Many local supermarkets and pharmacies are selling staple food
items and medical supplies at cost if they are destined for
Haiti. When you make a donation toward the Doulos Haiti
Relief fund to buy supplies locally this means your gift will go
far.
Our connection in Port Au Prince
is through a Baptist missionary and Doulos parent, Wesley Lane.
Wesley served in Port Au Prince for many years before moving to
Jarabacoa 3 years ago. The church building he helped to
construct survived the quake and is now a point of operations
for their relief work. He has rented a warehouse in the area and
protected it with guards to ensure the food inside is
distributed to those in need and not looted for sale. Our
donations along with others will be sent weekly as long as the
need continues and the supplies are available. |
